Auto-Ordnance has introduced the Thompson TAO50, a bolt-action rifle chambered in .50 BMG, aiming to enhance long-range shooting precision. The rifle features a 29-inch barrel with a 1:15″ twist rate, a patent-pending roller bearing bolt system with a left-side handle, and a 10-round detachable box magazine compatible with Barrett M82/M107 patterns. A full-length M1913 Picatinny rail allows for versatile optics and accessory mounting. To manage recoil, the TAO50 includes a high-efficiency muzzle brake and is compatible with .50 BMG suppressors. Designed with user familiarity in mind, it incorporates AR-15 elements such as a Magpul PRS Gen 3 stock, MOE+ grip, and a Timney AR-style trigger, with a bilateral safety lever positioned above the pistol grip. The rifle comes with an Accu-Tac bipod and is available in matte black or flat dark earth finishes, each adorned with the classic Thompson bullet logo. The TAO50 is priced at $8,700 for the matte black version and $8,800 for the flat dark earth finish.
