What Colorado Gun Owners Are Buying Right Now
Over the past month, we’ve seen a noticeable increase in activity at the shop. Phones are ringing more often, inventory is moving faster, and many customers are coming in to take a closer look at platforms they’ve been considering for a while.
A big part of that interest appears to be tied to upcoming firearm legislation in Colorado, particularly SB25-003, which is scheduled to take effect in August 2026 and will change the process for purchasing certain semiautomatic firearms.
Top-Selling Firearms This Month
AR-15 platforms continue to lead the list. Many customers are choosing rifles and pistols chambered in 5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout, which remain some of the most versatile and widely used modern sporting rifle configurations.
AK-pattern rifles have also seen renewed interest. Imports such as Zastava and Bulgarian models have been moving steadily as collectors and enthusiasts look for reliable options while they are still widely available.
On the pistol side, compact carry guns remain strong sellers.
Popular models this month include SIG P365 variants and Glock pistols, both of which continue to be widely trusted for personal defense and everyday carry.
Lower receivers have also been in steady demand, including BCM, Battle Arms Development, and other stripped lower options.
What Customers Are Saying
Most of the conversations we’re having in the store are fairly straightforward. Customers are simply paying attention to upcoming changes and deciding that now is a good time to pick up items they had already planned to purchase.
For many people, it’s less about reacting to legislation and more about avoiding potential delays, extremely high cost or additional steps once the new requirements take effect.
Looking Ahead
The new purchase requirements under SB25-003 in coming up fast in August 2026, but it’s clear that the discussion around the law is already influencing the market.
As we move through the year, it will be interesting to see how buying patterns continue to develop across Colorado.
In the meantime, we’ll continue to bring in inventory that customers are asking for and keep everyone updated as new information becomes available. What are you looking to purchase before August?
See yall soon,
